A recent study has revealed that Spider-Man is the most popular video game character costume for Halloween. The study, conducted by the online casino site Nieuwe Casino, analyzed over 120 video game characters using keywords like “Halloween costume,” “outfit,” and “makeup.” The data was then processed through Ahrefs to determine which characters had the highest monthly search volume over the past year.

Topping the list is Spider-Man, with an impressive 87,530 searches each month. While primarily known as a comic book hero, Spider-Man has starred in 39 video games, including the highly anticipated Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, released in 2023. Fans can easily recreate his signature red and blue suit, complete with web details and a mask featuring bold white eye patches.

In second place is Mario from the beloved Super Mario series, with 67,280 monthly searches. Mario’s costume is a simple and affordable option, with the classic combination of a red cap, blue overalls, white gloves, and a mustache—making it a favorite among fans.

Princess Peach claims the third spot with 53,070 searches. Known for her pink gown and crown, Peach’s look can be recreated with a long pink dress, gloves, and a blonde wig. For those looking to modernize her style, a shorter dress or two-piece outfit—keeping pink as the focal color—offers a trendy alternative.

Batman takes fourth place, with 47,350 searches. His iconic black suit and cape offer a sleek and customizable costume choice, perfect for fans of the Dark Knight.

Rounding out the top five is Luigi, Mario’s trusty sidekick, with 24,080 monthly searches. Luigi’s outfit mirrors Mario’s, swapping red for green, making it just as easy to create.
