Chicago musician DJ Mr. Alex Marks, also known as Alexandre Prokouchkine, has reached a remarkable milestone: 1,000 volunteer hours at St. Cyprian’s Food Pantry. This accomplishment represents about six months of full-time service, helping provide food and support to families in northwest Chicago.

Alex’s volunteering covers website management, public relations, and direct service during pantry distributions. His contributions help St. Cyprian’s connect families struggling with essentials like food, housing, and medical care. The food pantry’s mission is to serve the “working poor”—households where employment doesn’t cover all basic needs.

National statistics show that fewer than a quarter of Americans volunteer regularly, with even fewer reaching the 1,000-hour milestone.
