The last two days I was dreading the possibility of needing to use Unity…it’s been broken for a while so I’ve been doing some work arounds. But I was determined to use my model for this Vtuber software, Warudo. But the issue was, she had no expressions.
Other than the Keybinds, I was like nah…we are gonna rig her face right!!! So, I have to say, the discord server was more questions than answers…so I said eff it. Let me SIMPLIFY this to the bottom line.
Yes, it cost me money.
But…it’s an investment to be a vtuber.

Step 1: Exporting from VRoid Studio
Before using the app, you must export your avatar with specific settings so the software can read the face meshes properly.
- Open your model in VRoid Studio and click Export as VRM.
- Select VRM 0.0 as the export format (do not use VRM 1.0).
- In the optimization/reduction settings, look for the Reduce Polygons dropdown.
- CRITICAL: Uncheck the box that says “Delete Transparent Meshes” (透明メッシュを削除する). If this is checked, the face tracking mapping will break.
- Export and save your
.vrmfile.
Step 2: Running HANA_APP (No Unity Required)
- Download and extract the HANA_APP folder you purchased from BOOTH.
- Launch the standalone
.exeapplication. - Import your raw VRM file into the app.
- The software will automatically generate and map all 52 ARKit / Perfect Sync expressions.
- Click Export to save your newly upgraded
.vrmfile.
Step 3: Loading and Configuring in Warudo
- Move your newly exported
.vrmfile into your Warudo characters folder (usually found underWarudo\Data\Charactersor by clicking Open Data Folder inside the Warudo launcher). - Launch Warudo and load your new avatar.
- Open your character properties or tracking blueprint.
- Set your facial tracking source to an ARKit tracking profile (such as iFacialMocap, VTube Studio tracking, or MediaPipe).
- Warudo will instantly map its tracking data to the 52 baked-in blendshapes created by HANA_APP.
